Defending Recreation Access
The Summit Trail Project lawsuit on the Ochoco National Forest in Oregon—we have received Magistrate’s Findings and Recommendation released on August 27, that would set aside Summit Trail System Project, and are working on objections. Responses are due October 15, 2018.
We anticipate we will be engaged with Colorado partners on the Pike and San Isabel National Forests litigation challenging the existing travel management decisions in Colorado.
The Bi-State Grouse in Nevada-California – Attorney is reviewing recent ruling that vacated “not warranted” decision on listing and evaluate effect on pending legal action. A final complaint is being circulated and readied for filing.

- Over-Snow Vehicle (OSV) travel plans on Tahoe, Lassen, Eldorado, Stanislaus and Plumas National Forests in California – BRC has reviewed Over Snow Vehicle (OSV) plans on the Tahoe, Lassen, Eldorado, Stanislaus National Forests so far and submitted comments on each plan. We have also Submitted objections on the Lassen National Forest OSV Designation Draft Record of Decision. (See BRC comments and objection below).
