As always, Sharetrails.org/BRC puts your donations to work, on the trails, on the ground, on the waterways, in the halls of elected officials, and in the spirit of keeping our outdoor sports available to all. Sharetrails.org/BRC is your champion of responsible recreation, dedicated to keeping the fun alive.
eBay, an online auction pioneer, has partnered with MissionFish to provide a wonderful service that allows you to donate a percentage or all of the proceeds from an eBay auction to a cause of your choice. When listing an item, simply select the BlueRibbon Coalition (BRC) as the benefting non-profit, and a precentage (or all) of the proceeds.
The auction is done independently of Sharetrails.org/BRC; it is entirely up to the contributor to auction an item.
If you don’t wish to sell an item, you can instead see what items (if any) are for sale that will benefit Sharetrails.org/BRC. Just visit our eBay Giving Works page and browse!

There are several ways to make a lasting contribution toward Sharetrails.org/BlueRibbon Coalition’s efforts in “Preserving Our Natural Resources FOR the Public instead of FROM the Public.” Below is a summary of some of the ways you can help. We welcome the opportunity to discuss these options with you. Personal discussions incur no obligation on your part, and of course, all information discussed will remain confidential. If you are interested in providing for the BRC through planned giving, please contact Mary Jo Foster at 1-800-258-3742, Ext. 0.
A Gift Through Your Will
One of the simplest ways to make a gift to the BlueRibbon Coalition (BRC) is through your will. Bequests can take the form of cash or trusts, houses, land, vehicles, jewelry, securities, and life insurance. You may designate the BRC as a direct beneficiary to receive: all or a portion of your estate. Bequests are free from federal estate tax, offering potential estate tax savings.
The following language can be used to provide for the BRC in your will or trust:
“I hereby give and bequeath ______ to the BlueRibbon Coalition (BRC), a nonprofit organization incorporated by the laws of the State of Idaho, having as its principal address 4555 Burley Dr. Ste A, Pocatello, Idaho, 83202-1921, Tax ID 82-0413981, to be used in its access protection efforts.”
Gift of Securities
You can donate securities to the BRC. This will help save on capital gains taxes on appreciated investments and provide a charitable income tax deduction.
Life Insurance Gifts
Giving a life insurance policy is a way to donate a large sum at relatively little cost to you. You can donate an existing policy that no longer is necessary for your family’s financial security. This will make future premiums on the policy tax-deductible.
The BlueRibbon Coalition is in the business of preserving your access to our public lands, not providing financial or legal advice. We recommend that you contact your attorney or financial advisor when considering such donations. The BlueRibbon Coalition cannot serve as an executor of a donor’s estate.
These memorial funds have been established at the request of the friends and/or families of the honorees. Funds received are used or applied to projects in accordance with the original requests of those who established the memorial. When a donation is made to any of these funds, Sharetrails.org/BlueRibbon Coalition will always notify the family or friends of the honoree. In addition, a thank you letter is sent to the donor for their tax records.
If you would like to set up a memorial fund, you can use this form. Alternatively, to request a new memorial fund or for more information, please contact Mary Jo using our online message center, or by phone at 1-208-237-1008, ext. 0.
