Michael William Arave
MICHAEL WILLIAM ARAVE, age 65 of Helena, passed away quickly and peacefully at St. Peters’ Hospital on December 24, 2011. He was born on July 22, 1946, the son of Luren S. and Gwendolyn (Savage) Arave, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Michael proudly served his country for 2 tours in Vietnam from 1964 through 1967 in the USAF. He went on to complete computer training and made a career in the field of Information Technology. He was able to travel the world teaching people.
He was diagnosed with leukemia in September 2009 and fought a courageous battle against it, outliving the doctor’s predictions.
Michael celebrated his 30 year anniversary in June with the love of his life, Diane and celebrated his 65th birthday in July.
Michael was quite passionate about his ATV riding and enjoyed this adventurous activity all summer long even with his illness. He truly had a glorious summer and a perfect way to spend his last few warm months in Montana doing what he loved.
Michael’s wish was that if anyone wanted to make a donation in memory of him to please do so with BlueRibbon Coalition (see button below) or Best Friends Animal Society at www.bestfriends.org. Both of these organizations meant a lot to Michael and he would be blessed to see them continuing in his name.
A special thank you goes out to Dr. Thomas Weiner and the staff at St Peter’s Cancer Treatment Center and the third floor oncology nurses for providing wonderful care to Michael while fighting his courageous battle.
