DANIEL JAMES COX, 21, was attending SDSU majoring in Environmental Engineering after graduating from Santana High School with the Class of 2004. While attending SHS, he was a member of the Water Polo and Swim teams. An avid off-road enthusiast, he constantly fought for balance between his hobbies and studies. Daniel’s values: Respect and value each other. Recycle everything. Take care of the world. Preserve it to use and enjoy it. Don’t abuse it.

Daniel is survived by his loving bother, Michael Cox (Chrissy) of Big Bear, California, who often enjoyed waiting while Daniel picked up trash on back-country trails; and his loving parents, Kelly Cox of Scripps Ranch and Farrell Cox of Santee.

A celebration of Daniel’s life was held at El Cajon Mortuary on Saturday, April 5, 2008.

In lieu of flowers, Daniel would be happier with donations to BRC, to help promote responsible recreational land use.
